That somebody was me, but it's nice to have a separate thread for these... the physics behind them is sound, and it sounds like they solved all the problems that plagued earlier attempts at dynamic balancing beads. I've just been waiting to have some extra cash on hand to get them and try them out. If anybody else feels like giving them a try, they seem to have a few options depending on whether you are doing a new tire installation or retrofitting an existing one.

High Voltage has em' and posted on the OS, he said they are great so far...

I'd like to look into them in the future as well. I like the idea of constantly balancing the tires. And no more hassle with shops...

I know that is a bit annoying...I have yet to have that problem, as my buddy and I have done all the work on my TB, (like most of us on here) minus the balacing of the tires and Town Fair Tire just made me sign a waiver. I do wish I had just gotten the beads tho.

Anyone see glfredricks post on these and wearing the tire from the inside out. I think that is a big concern. Anyone seen any research of these over the whole life of a tire. All I see is reports of just installing them.
I hate to advocate weird chemicals, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...but
they've always worked for me.

In trying to figure out HOW these actually work (the physics behind it), I found this convincing video:

However, I still have no inclination about why they balance a rotating mass. Through my knowledge of systems and physics, the whole system seems inherently unstable. I must be overlooking something because it apparently works.

Here's what I could glean off their site:

And that makes sense to me. The beads don't prevent oscillation, they react to oscillation and in turn make the oscillations smaller and smaller until they're essentially imperceptible. The kicker is that this happens quickly enough that you don't really notice any initial lack of balance.

I want to say don't be dumb. Water will force itself into balance with an off weighted centrifugal force...and so on.
This is nothing new. No great new leap made for mankind. :viking:

Let me ask this. Who endorses it?

I fail to see how your MLM speech has anything to do with dynabeads, which are produced by a privately-owned company that isn't even advertising their products here.

And if you think I'm getting paid to give my opinion re: these things, psssh... I wish somebody paid me money to post on forums all day. :hissyfit:

I just did a dealer search to find one in my area. Turns out, the brother in law of a good friends of mine owns a cycle shop that happens to be an authorized distributor. I may have to give him a call.

Check up on the wearing the interior of the tire thing... sounds like a big concern to me.

I wonder if they create a static charge in your tire. Could be funny... picking up all the fuzz off the roadways as you drive around. :flower:

I believe they're ceramic... no static charge methinks, but I did find a report claiming interior wear on a streetbike tire... Will have to look into it, but then again, much softer rubber on those, and their centripetal force would push the beads into a channel, because of the shape of motorcycle tires vs car/truck tires.

Ya I have been running these for a while now.
Very smooth no vibration or bounce at all.
As far as wearing the inside of the tire. If this was a major issue I'm sure this technology would have been given up on a long time ago.
As far as a puncure you could definatly lose your beads. And I think if you have to patch your tire it will affect the beads since the inside of the tire won't be smooth any more.
