Yeaa they are important. It also important to steer clear of riverbank sink-holes.

Well, it took about the same amount of effort to break them loose, so I am not losing much there. They are coming in a hair taller than the MTs, so I am losing nothing there. The ride is much more smooth and quiet, the handling feels as responsive. So, I have no complaints. We'll see if that stands in a couple of weeks.

it doesnt look like you cut anything to get those 33's on. Am i missing something? That is the only thing holding me back from 33's....i dont want to cut anything on the truck I cant easily replace.

Also curious... running spacers and the lift, but not sure about 33's.

I have wheels with a lot of offset so I didnt need spacers, in fact i still have at least 3/4" space between tire and balljoint. it looks like I can fit a 33" tire without cutting as long as I dont go too wide. But I dont know. Maybe Ill go to my tire shop, throw a 33" on my spare wheel, and mount it up front just to see how tight the fit really is.

You should be fine to fit 33's without cutting metal

According to everyone and every will it fit chart, that isnt true....... Do you have 33's, can u confirm this for me? I need someone running these tires to tell me they did it without cutting. I know Roadie had to cut metal.

Keep in mind, the tire diameter is only one of a number of variables that come into play.

Things like your wheel/spacer combined offset, the particular tire's design and tread width, and your suspension caster will all come into play.

He has it listed right in his sig that he has 33's... but they are just AT's and I believe they were used, as were the OP. SO a fresh set of MT's might have more triming to do.

And also keep in mind Envoy's have a different shaped wheel well so that's why Roadie had to also trim.

Good points, and yes I understand that there are many factors of a tire that can determine if it will fit. But even after talking to Roadie about it, he didnt really see a way to make them fit without cutting. are the guys with the 33" tires running narrower then 265? and are they only running an a/t tire?

Hmm, well the only one I can think of off the top of my head is Teebes, who has a MT and they are 285/75/16. And now that Bot (MrSmithTB) got rid of his lift and tires I can only think of Foosh who put on used AT's.

Could be more but the common is for sure 32" ers. When mine wear out I'll most likely go to 33" tires, but thats not for a while so I don't have to think much about it right now...

Bear in mind, Bill is running them on an Envoy... different sheet metal at play, I would think. That might be why there was cutting involved with it.

Yea thats what I said a few posts up, but now I'm tryin to remember, but before Bot had the BFG All Terrains he got the same size but BFG MT's also which were used but he didn't do much more trimming than any of us with 32's... That's if IIRC.

Ya i know about the different shapes in our truck. But I even had Bill take a look during our trip in the dessert, and even he said it didnt look like 33"s would fit without some trimming.

I think I will have to make blueprint of how the wheel turns in the wheel well, and figure out exactly how much space I have. Then figure out the size dimensions of my tire compared to a 33" tire. By knowing what kind of space I have left with 32"s, hopefully I can figure out what kind of 33 will fit prior to buying it.

Did you trim at all for your 32's?

Nope, no trimming needed. I have around .5" or more clearence from the UBJ, and even after off roading with Roadie in the dessert for 3 days and a round trip from toronto to los angeles no issues except for a bad wheel bearing which was on its way out before the lift and tires.

Ok, I guess you lucked out there. I had to trim the fender liner and knock back the rocker panel bolt a bit, because it would rub when taking tight turns and under full compression.

So maybe for you to go up to 33" tires you would just have to do what most of us did for 32's and trim those areas as well... Also doesn't AlekG have 33's? I know he has a complete custom set up tho that us...

yes AlekG has 33"s, and i have spent a good deal of time around his truck. he had to cut a lot of metal, even with his higher suspension lift, and body lift. But he also has super crazy wide 33"s. So again there may be a way to fit them if there are narrower. I just need to take more measurments
