Wheel spacers not fitting.

Need new shoes? This is the place to discuss.

by feets » Wed Jul 31, 2013 10:37 am

Can't get my wheelspacersto fit at the small machined surface approximatly .100 before sitting against the axle flange. Best i can measure is a .014 inteference there. What should i do the get the adapters installed properly?
Can't find any thread with this problem.
Thanks

where did you get the spacers?
Is the issue on the front or rear? Did you remove the little clips holding the rotors on?
Is it the hub centric part causing the problems?
Mine came from Mark, they went on the hubs fine but my wheels were a tight fit being wheel centric.
Do you have any rust build up? You don't list your location so we don't know where you are from.
As they say, a pic is worth a 1,000 words.

If it's not the clips, then it's the hubcentric lip (a better description would help). Also interested who machined your spacers, and if you contacted the vendor first.

it sounds like the hub centric lip but I could be mistaken.

Please don't be like that. Tell us what really happened and then we'll be able to give better advice to the next one who does it. I guarantee you won't be the last one to do whatever you did.

That statement has been said or thought at least once, if not more, by every human being on this forum. Don't let it discourage you! Just learn from it.

Ironic. Same problem with mine, I just got them from Mark. Although in my case, it appears to be mismatched stud threads.

All of the studs on the spacers are the wrong threads. Neither the stock lugs or the spacer lugs would work. Apparently this set was a rushed set as the first were lost in transit. Mark and I brainstormed for a few hours before he shipped out new studs yesterday.

very odd, you should get 12MM to bolt to the hub and either 12MM or 14MM to bolt to the spacer.

I thought so as well. I've never heard of this happening (seems to be a common trend in my automotive life-- i am murphy's law in the flesh). The 12mm nuts included work on the hub studs fine, it's the studs on the spacer that are the problem. the lugs only go down about 1/2 inch before they lock up, and if you force them it'll start cross threading.

James02 was just telling me this evening he had the same problem with a set of adapters he got the other day. I wonder what's going on?

I bet they are 1/2" threads, and M12 nuts. The diameters are close enough, but the thread pitch is slightly off.

Yea, fairly deflating.... I planned an all day truck cutting session.... I too had a bit of a mix up with Mark, I bet mine were rushed also.... Not bashing Mark in any way, he shipped the wrong thing and corrected the situation.... Sorta.... :wallbash:

Ours were M12 with 1/2" threads.
Once lifted 03 Trailblazer on 35's, gave it up to travel the USA with my family.
