I'm a bit surprised at how out of date this chart is. It's really misleading at this point.

Is there anyway we can help update this?

Also noticed the tire sizes in inches are not what I have measured in real life on a few sizes. There can be an inch of variance in brand n style of same size yet chart is exact to the hundred of an inch.

Jason, thanks for the reminder I need to revisit some of the builds that have recent updates here and in the build chart.
Kyle we discussed the variety in mathematical tire size vs actual awhile back and decided there was so much variation in brands to just keep the mathematical value.

I especially need to get Dirty Anton and Ben's updates on here and the build chart.

I have a recent update and would request to be moved from 245/70/16 slot to 315/70/17, however my nittos actually measure in at 34.85

If I have a 3.42 (GU6) can I run LT265/75/16 tires or have to be P265/75/16, For what I know LT are heavier than passenger, so If I can go for LT265/75/16 can I run P285/75/16 because are light?

I run 10-ply 265/75-16 Toyo MT's with 3.42 gears and I'm doing fine. Just shift into "3" for city driving and "D" for highway.

P tires are not going to be built as strong and could ruin your day Offroad.

^^ This

I would recommend a minimum 6-ply tire. 10-ply optimal for durability. A re-gear can't hurt either. I'm in the process of purchasing a 4.10 upgrade.

I've read a few threads and some PMs from guys that have run the 33's with the 3.42s and they have some issues with their trannys overheating and poor gas mileage. I think the consensus is to run the 265s unless you re-gear. I really wanted to get the 285s also but decided to stick with the 265s.

What about if you just add a tranny cooling system?

I think most of the TB's came factory with a tranny cooler. At least mine did anyway

They do, but I saw some guy add an extra one on front of the radiator, specially when they tow heavy stuff

The transmission cooler is built into the radiator. So if you think about it, your radiator is doing double duty. If you're towing something, you're really heating things up. So it makes sense to add the additional cooler, this way the engine temps and transmission temps stay lower.

Also when you move up in tires it's generally a good idea to add the cooler as the additional rotational mass means a little more work on the drive train.

I'll add to this, that off-roading around Moab on 90 degree days, we saw some really high engine temps that got me worried a couple of times. The engine wasn't reaching an over-heating state, but anytime where where trying to climb altitude in the heat it really started climbing. So this year we finally got around to putting our transmission cooler on the truck.

I added one to mine because I run 35s on 3.73 gears and was hitting 220 trans temps just driving, after the install, I sit around 165.

We do. The gas mileage sucks though, and you have to be careful not to put too much stress on the rear to the point you'll grenade it. We'll be upgrading to 4.10s by summer.
