Instead of an 8.6" EXT axle, may I suggest you be the first to find a wrecked SS and pull the 9.5" 14 bolt out of it? Still tons of gear/locker choices available for it. The added strength should give you some safety cushion. Right now there's not much you can do about the 7.2" front w/o a SAS, but you can at least keep the rear together.

Blowing an axle on the trail really ruins your day, as several of us can tell you.

I remember you mentioning that in the OS. I doubt you can find regular Beadlocks in 16.5 / 6 lug, even the Hummer wheels are specialty, as they are 2-piece wheels (Hutchinson?). I believe most of the newer H1s had 17 inch aluminium wheels.
This is an aggressive post. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate a post of this quality and depth.

turns out that my neighbor has a 36" tire rim combo so ima snag a tire from him when i get the body lift on so i can see what needs to be modded out and how far :)

What 36s? Make sure to check rim specs and things since they play a huge roll in going big. I kinda wish I went 8 inch wide instead of 9 but my comba works good. I am putting the 35s I have on 8s.

yea but the 37's are still the plan i just need a tire for exaple so i can see what needs to be cut welded and re braced and then re done on other sides :)

Yep but you need to know specs underwtand what will change w the 37 or you are wasting tie since they could be completely different and cycle far different as well. I know I could bolt on 37s and drive around now but getting a 35 to work offroad is totally different and all tire and wheel variables will be in play.

I would encourage you to give it a shot. Kyle ran around with 36s for awhile.

After you trim the fender you'll likely have to take a bfh to the firewall to get full lock to lock steering. But it should work just fine depending on the offset. I don't think the firewall would need to move much and those kind of mods are pretty common on other platforms.

It'd look killer and give the guys that do wheel a data point.

A couple guys did a nice job cutting and adjustinv that part of te firewall. I rub the frame a little but a touch more offset would fix that.
I would agree with Kyle though. Old threads....

I ran 36s on 16s and 36s on 20s. I had a set of 37s I was going to borrow and bolt on but forgot about my bigger brakes and 15s not fitting anymore. I likely can find a set to try though. I do have a spare set of 20s and 17s I could maybe find some used tires to see how they fit.

I have to say, looking at the wheelbase of mine and the frame and everything, I think a 35-37 are the optimal size for wheeling these. The feasibility is another issue lol

I consider 35s easy. I suppose not everyone would though. If I ever run across a set of 37's on wheels with more off set, I would try bolting them on just to see what happens.
