i have the goodyear mt r kevlar tires and i love them! rain or shine, or granite quary they work amazing! def. need some more trail time though.

So I think I will go with either the Firestone destination m/ts or the Kumho kl71 m/ts. Whats your guys opinions?? or any other tires i should check out?? I need to pull the trigger this week so help me out guys!

I an running worn Destinations and they still perform incredibly well. I found a place to purchase them new online for quite a good price. Saving for new ones in pairs.

I've got the Kumho's and I must say they have been great. They have got me thru some good mud holes and up steep wooded and rocky hills. So they have held up great offroad so far.

On road they are fairly quiet compared to other tires I have heard on other vehicles I've ridden in... and have done great on wet roads as well. Have yet to test in snow but since your in Cali I can't imagine you get much. As of now I have put over 6k miles on them and haven't shown much wear either.

Only complaint is that they are directional so can't do the 5 wheel rotation... But I ultimately went with them b/c of the reviews I read and the price. Got a great deal on them. So if the rotational aspect doesn't matter to you I'd say get em.

They also come all black, no white lettering for show poodles..

I have heard great things about the Firestones as well and I almost went with those but couldn't find em any cheaper than $240 or so a piece.. which was a lil much at the time. I also wanted to get KM2's but no shop around had em..

Edit: Wow that is a great price for the Firestones..

245/75/16 and 265/70/16 are pretty much the same. Which should fit without spacers. If you plan on buying spacers, your option will be opened up a bit. But most mod you might have to do with the 265/70 is grind the upper ball joint a little. If you elect not to use spacers, I would actually recommend you keep the size and go for a mud terrain or aggressive all terrain tread. For example:

I am retarded when it comes to tires. Which is wider?? 245 or 265?? and which is taller?? i dont mind grinding the bj but for now no spacers. And its looking kike i might get those tires you posted

265 is wider than 245. That number denotes the tire width in mm. The 75 or 70 or 65, etc.... is the percentage of the width that is the sidewall height. Both of those tire equal to about 30.5", give or take. With the 265 being wider, it has a better chance of experiencing ball joint interference, but I think it is worth it for the extra inch of width. Remember though, the footprint(tread width on the pavement) of the tire varies with different brands and tread ratings(A/T or M/T), which also affects how close it comes to the ball joint. I'd prefer the 265/70/16 given the choice between the two, because it allows for a better spread of weight distribution for softer terrain, and an M/T tread, for better traction in the messy stuff.

Ok thanks for the help!! I think I will go for the wider one. The ones I have now look too skinny and it doesnt really look good like that. And those tires for me are closer to 700 beofr mounting and balancing so i will have to try and find cheaper.

Hmmmmmmmmm now its between the MT/R with kevlar and the firestone............ MT/R has a 50 dollar rebate, meaning in the long run I pay 646 Vs 660 for the Firestone, before shipping of course.

Well i have heard that after sitting for a couple days the kevlar lining likes to get flat spots, making a bumpy ride until they smooth out again. I also hear they dont like to stay balanced.

I figure the kevlar bit is a tradeoff for the much better sidewall strength, and dynabeads will fix the balancing problem... gotta get them in my tires soon.

just try the mt/r 's you'll never really know how good anything is until you try it where you drive it.

Unless someone can prove me wrong, the tire manufactures and dealers do not use nor endorse this product. Which begs the question why. Answers anyone? And no it's not a new idea.
