235/85r16 tires without spacers?

Need new shoes? This is the place to discuss.

So I've searched and searched, read the sticky but have a fairly odd question. I currently run 235/75r16 firestone le2 with 50% tread. they measure 29.6" and I have roughly 7/8" to UBJ. It also looks like edge of the inner tread clears(straight up) the UBJ. I'm fine with using spacers but would rather not if not needed. the tires I'm looked at are goodyear duratrac 235/85r16 which they list at 31.7". have anyone ran this size in any tire? could a grind enough without compromising strength. Also has anyone ran 245/75r16(30.7") or 265/70r16(30.6") goodyear duratrac tires specifically? While I'm at it,has anyone tried BORA 1.5" wheel spacers? the run $260/4 and seem to be fairly common and they sets with our bolt spacing.

Have you looked at Marks ( LiftMeister ) spacers believe they are running about 200 for a set. Probably most people are using those.

You need to look at width more than height for ubj clearance for the examples you are giving.
