Guys have them in the rear, myself and 2 or 3 other guys use them in the front. I personally haven't gotten to test it off-road as I would wish yet because of other problems, but other guys have and you can find a good write up on it. Driving on the street it runs fine in the front you don't hear any clicking when you turn and turns just fine when no 4wd engage. It does not activate unless there is torque being put on the front driveshaft.

I've got it in my rear axle. I'm a fan. I get the regular tire squeal when making a sharp turn because the axle is locking. Hear some clicking on occasion, too. Offroad though, it's fantastic.

Lots of clicking. The occasional bang and pop. Little inside tire chirp on corners at times. Locks up great. Drivability on and offroad is outstanding. Been in the rear for awhile(I do have the 9.5) with no issues so durability seems good.

Because I'm only doing 32" tires but the trail here in Bakersfield used to be a 9 on the rating and now its a 6 because of some Offroad clubs complaining about it which is odd so I think with a stock front and rear end with 3.73 32" tires and lock rights front and rear I can do the trail I barely made it last year in my Toyota on 33s and dual transfer cases no lockers though but thanks for the info gonna order some soon

Front may not be available anymore.

If you got the 8.0 you need a different axle. If you have the 8.6 then order from your favorite vendor. I personally despise 4wheelparts since they are not only assholes, they straight up lied to me twice. I found my carrier and lock right on pirate4x4 classified.

I've looked on summit racing and jegs did not see a 8.6" listed, when I know I have seen them before on there. The only one that summit has is this one which I am not sure if it is the same. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/pwt-9 ... /overview/

I know this is a bit off topic but forgive me. I thought trail ratings only went to 5  Other than that Im open in the front and rear and plan on sourcing a 1935 lock right and possibly going with a used up G80 in the rear. But that is a long way down the road.

05 trailblazer ls vortec 4200. 4.2l and I'm not using the tb rating this is what the Offroad guide in Bakersfield says according to all th e Offroad clubs. I'm gonna keep whatever stock rear I have just do gears and locker and eventually I'll upgrade on down the road

There is a wrecked tb ss at the local junkyard. I think has the 9.5 I think I'll pick that up I can get it pretty cheap I know the owner if that's the case but like I said that's later down the road

im going to venture a guess that you have the 8.0" rear.
If you don't want to swap axles, then you have limited yourself to either a G80 or a Tru-Trac Limited Slip.
If you choose to go with the 9.5, then high five and have fun.

Keep in mind the 9.5 is the G86 limited slip which is pretty good, but you will need an open carrier to swap in a locker if you want one.

For your rear axle, I'd track down a Powertrax No-Slip instead of the Lock-Right. They are essentially the same thing, but the No-Slip is supposed to be more streetable due to less noise, less ticking, and less unintended engagement of the fast spinning halfshaft.

Lock-Right is the only option up front, but I thought that we were having issues finding them?

If you have a short wheel base I6, you have an 8.0 rear. The only ones that came with the 8.6 are the long wheel base XL model and the V8 models (and I think we also found that the Saabs got the 8.6").

Hope that helps.

Im swapping for the 8.6 out of a EXT, and looking to drop in the lock-right/No-Slip. Will I need an open diff? Or will the G80 spider gears work? I found one $10 cheaper with the G80, but if the lunch box locker wont fit/if I need to buy new spiders gears, Ill just get the open diff.
