Whats all needed for a guaranteed 32" tire to fit without cutting of any sort. I have looked through many lifts and decided on supreme suspension 3" front and rear, with that being said I want a total of 5" of lift suspension what springs and shocks needed to achieve this goal or just add a 2" body lift. I do light to medium rockcrawling. Also who makes a front and rear aftermarket locker gu6 code (3.42) ratio I will make my own front and rear bumpers radiator skid and oil skid and diff covers. I know there is build threads and etc. But none has answered my questions

I have 2.5" suspension and 3" body, pretty sure I could roll on 32" without rubbing.

I had 32s without rubbing with only a 2in suspension lift and wheel spacers.

I like this sticky that has a chart showing how much lift you need to fit different sized tires and if any cutting or other mods are required. viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2290

With a smidge of trimming on the inside of my bumper cover I fit 32s with a suspension lift. There's pics in my build thread showing exactly what needs to be done.

The rubbing seems to depend on the tire profile and the wheel offset. I rubbed with 2.5" lift from Mark with Grabber AT2, 1.5 spacers and 17x8 aftermarket wheels. Lots of variables. After trimming, I still rub fender liners under articulation.

With 3:42s you may want to look into adding a trans cooler as well.

I did pretty good for awhile with almost exactly that setup. I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

Working on getting the trans cooler, installing my cobra cb and dual cb antennas today. Also getting the steel to build my radiator skid oil skid and transfer case skid. Not guaranteed to have them all done today but going to try. Also thanks for the info guys I really do appreciate it a lot

Just catching up, and I'm curious about something... Every time this subject comes up (how do I fit X" diameter tire), nobody ever says what WIDTH of tire they want to run. That can make a huge difference is the turning clearance you have, especially if you're going all-out with something like 305's.

They also don't typically mention backspace despite it having a significant impact as well. LOL

Sure, but I can sort of understand that because most folks starting down this path are still using the stock wheels. And I do actually see that topic come up a lot when people start discussing changing their wheels. I dunno, I just thought I'd throw that little bit out there for anyone in the future who is searching for answers... the width of your planned tire matters just as much as the height when you are asking whether a certain combination of pieces will work.

There isn't that much of an effective difference between say a 305 and a 265. 40mm total, 20mm per side, basically 3/4" that affects your clearance between the two. If you're on a stock wheel with a 1.5" wheel spacer, you can easily fit just about any tire width between the UBJ. The tire width may have some effect on your rubbing in the wheel well, but I can't imagine it being too great. I think that's why it isn't brought up that much. But I agree with you, if you absolutely want to fit the tallest tire possible, you generally want to get the skinniest tire you can.

While you are basically correct, the shape of the wheel well matters also. Most modern 4x4's have almost square wheel wells that ultimately limit height.

Width is easy, you can always just push it out more

Pushing them out more creates its own issues. It is not a cure.

Indeed it does, but if you want that width, you pay the price lol. Or get a wider axle and pull the backspacing back in.

What are you talking about? Wider axle and reduced backspacing will be same as wide setup with stock width axle. Both create rubbing issues and not fix them as your "push it out more" implies.

I have had just as much difficulty in getting width to fit as height with the platform and pushing it out does not alleviate any fitment issue without creating another. Even with 35s and 36s the height was not the issue. The width has been the bigger bugger. You get into the frame or the fender or the firewall gets into play. I had to modify the wheelwell shape more for width than height. Cut the fender, remove a big portion of inner wheelwell. Neither of those could have been avoided by pushing it out. Possibly a skinnier setup could have alleviated some, but I like wide set-ups and do what is needed to run them.
