I thought the other issues you were referring too were ball joint wear and what not.

Nope. I was continuing the discussion that you had been speaking of with the wheel wells and fitment. No reason to sidetrack into wear items.

So you had issues with width before height, at the same suspension height?

Wider created rubbing that similar diameter setup did not. So yes.

You do not see people cutting the upper portion of their fenders due to any height. You see the skinny setups sliding by without trimming lower rear fenders, but wider stances with same tire size necessitate fender cuts.

That's good to know, since I have skinny 32's lol.

As for the upper portion of the fender, I was actually talking about the front and rear of the fender, where taller tires would also interfere. I'm thinking of, like an 07-up Silverado, with square wheel wells. A taller tire would hit the front and rear as well. Actually the weel wells are fairly tall, but not very "long" along the length of the truck.

Very true. But that is easy to fix with a saw. I and several others have taken about 1.5 out of the sheetmetal. Pushing the tires out wider actually multiply that issue on the front and rear.

I have took about 1 3/4 off of the bottom when I was running 12s and I pulled the bottom of the inner back with zip ties but I have since shattered the bottom back of my inner fender wels
