Wharton Trip turned SAS Discussion

Dumping ground for offroad Trailblazer or Envoy general discussion.

by irishboy02 » Sat Dec 05, 2009 10:01 pm

Was a lonesome trip. I drove 2hr 20min and no one showed.

I hit some little trails by myself, wasnt going to completely waste the day. Water table was pretty high, snowed towards the end. Wheeled for about 4hrs. No pictures were taken, wasnt even worth it. Kinda pissed.

To top it off, might have broken something in the rear diff/axle/hub area and i didnt even come off fireroads. Need to get it looked at to figure out the exact issue.

Awesome day :coffee:

You guys were advised as to my troubles. Sorry I couldn't make it. And sorry I didn't contact you earlier. Left my phone in the Explorer during the brake job. Mighty pissed I was as well :hissyfit: If anyone of going to the OS MidAtlantic meet next weekend, maybe we head there early and catch some trails beforehand? Just a thought.

Yea that did suck.

Was a waste of a day, mileage and solid chunk of change. Let alone the bill for my new wheel bearing(s)
Guess some people are happy about the outcome though unfortunately. Guess thats just the way the cookie crumbles

You said it was your rear, right? At least it's not your fronts. Those suckers are expensive as hell.

WOW your nuts it was way to cold to go off roading the other day and the rain/snow was bad and plus you went by yourself.Theres no way I would do that.Well maybe when I had my jeep but not in my tb.It always gets stuck and I always need my jeep buddys to pull me out.But that will change soon.

Yes unfortunately when you go alone you run that risk, I was with IrishBoy02, Brendan, and between the highlight and recovery straps theirs not much i wouldn't get him out of, worst comes to worst we'd have to wait for the next truck to come along.

Teehee, James.

Too cold? I'd rather wheel in a sealed SUV with the heat on when it's cold then a Jeep. If it comes down to temp, you probably aren't serious about off roading anyway. :poke:

Glad you guys out at least a little bit. Dont worry about negative Nancy, just work with what you got and enjoy it. That is what is important. It was a bit too far for me to get there, but maybe one day when I get a year off I can take a bunch of trips.

I know. I am just jealous of your closeness to the trails I see in the magazines.
