Transmission 3rd 4th gear slip!

Dumping ground for offroad Trailblazer or Envoy general discussion.

So the past couple weeks I been feeling this jerking on the tb. Like if the overdrive was engaging my rpm would go up and a slight jerk. Today I was pulling a trailer with a motorcycle when I notice my rpm go all the way to 4,000 rpm. I slowed down and only first, second gear where engaging. I think I need to do an overhaul in my transmission? What do you guys think? Am I on the right track?

Eddie, Sounds like the rebuild may be in your future. I've only put a shift kit in mine, so I'm far from qualified to give you an educated answer. Have you dropped the pan to see what it shows?

Just flushing out transmission fluids. Next start unbolting the transmission to drop it down! The fluids where bad smelt like burnt oil.
