Just wanted to show off my trail blazer and the Waiparous area here in Alberta. Massive area with trails for all levels.

Nice shots, Matt, thanks for posting. I like your wheels, are they our 6x5 bolt pattern, or on adapters?

17x8 and no adapters needed. Ion alloy 179 is the model i believe. Wondering if you have ever done any trails on the island as I am interested in moving there.

Thanks for the info, Matt, I'll look them up.

It's been decades since I was last on VI, when my parents lived in Chemainus for a few years, and I didn't take my 4x4 over at that time, so I have no experience on trails over there. There is a publisher that has "B.C. Backroads" books out, I'm sure they'll have one for the island.

Just went out to the TB and checked my seatback pockets. One of the books had a list inside, and they do have a Vancouver Island edition, "Backroad Mapbook: Vancouver island", ISBN 0-9697877-2-3 (v. 3) These books give logging roads, multi-use trails, lake and river fishing spots, paddling routes, and wilderness campsites, with a nice little write-up on each one. Well worth the $20 or so cost.

Thanks, I'm at that point where I like the way it looks now yet still want to do more.

AlbertaMatt, I checked into those wheels today, through a local discount tire/wheel shop, and he located 2 sets in our bolt pattern left in the whole country! I'd love to have a set, but I just spent $660 on new AT2 tires today, so can't afford the wheels too. I might be able to get him to order a set and hold them for me, if I give him a $200 deposit. I have a few days to decide, as the tires won't get here for 4 or 5 days.

They also come in black if that is a option for you and if you can find. How is BC on front tinted windows?

I don't like the all black look, I need a little bling on the rims. I have no idea on the laws re tinted windows here, I've always been happy with what the factory does for tint.
