Look's like you're having a great time! And I'm glad to hear good thing's about that Smittybuilt RTT, we've been looking at one.

As you know, I'm typically not a fan of the selfie; however, there are times where one is appropriate. This felt like one of those times.

It seems Bill is more interested in offroading in outer space, the ultimate offroad adventure!

Not offroading, off-planeting!

Hahaha!
I'm dragging Bill out here for 2 nights and a route that has us crossing the park from the very southern point to damn near the very northern point! We'll be meeting up Fri night, wheeling all day saturday, probably hit a few sunday morning, too.
Bill is happy to see his protege return :)

Glad you're having a good time out there. Thanks for uploading all the pictures Robert.

I'm waiting until I have Roadie to fire up the bacon. It's in the cooler, though :) Some good east coast beer, too. Could probably sell it out here for 10x it's value.

Well, 5,324.4 miles later, I'm home. Time for a shower and to rotate my brand new tires.

BIG THUMBS UP FOR BFG KO2!!

I'll get the unposted pictures up after a shower...

Great stuff Bacon! Glad you got a chance to see the old codger again! I'm sure you have some good calendar shots in there for 2017. Any good stories? Any lessons learned? Did bill stare at the stars every night wishing he was on a rocket ship?

Did you reattempt the pinion squeeze? :finger:

Well, other than the shifter cable bushing failing on a steep climb being combined with a weak e-brake forcing me to jump out and find big enough rocks to wedge behind my wheels before the truck took off down the mountain, it was a pretty uneventful journey. I'm considering writing a book called "Shit The Roadie Told Me"... sit around a campfire long enough with this man and you'll have some good life lessons to share.

Met up with a nice gentleman on the trail who trying to patent a creation. He incorporated an additional AC compressor into his serp belt, ran cooling lines through the engine bay to seperate the oil out of the air, oil was pumped back into the compressor. The compressed air was then routed to 4 seperate air lines, each securely mounted in a wheel well. He then created a blue tooth interface with an app that he created so he could wirelessly air up/down his tires from his phone using the compressed air generated from that additional compressor.

I'm sure Bill could explain it a bit better. But he's also well connected in the commercial off-road community and willing to help us out with designing gear (particularly custom CVs, splined disco/diff drop kits, control arms, etc)

I read on jeepforum some time back of guys doing something similar with their AC compressor, nothing that elaborate though.

I have seen similar minus the lines ran to each wheel well. It used to be kinda common for onboard air. I think it was 10 years ago on Black Mountain a couple guys in a 4runner used that kinda setup to help us on some punctured atv tires we were fixing.
I hate to advocate weird chemicals, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...but
they've always worked for me.

The squeeze might have been doable if we went together, but not with RTTs. Too much off-camber into rock walls, plus the top heaviness.

Some pics.
