First off road venture with a stock TB, bad shocks, noisy sway bar links and semi bald rear tires. Terrain, semi challenging, very rocky, Stephentown, NY power lines. TB performed better than expected. Definitely bumped and scraped a lot and re shaped my side pipe exhaust, but for the most part it handled the trails well. Made a mistake and took a less traveled trail to go around a water hole. Smacked a rock pretty hard hidden in a grassy ditch. Took out the oil pan! Repairs this week and now have a performance base line for the build. Kudos to my 17 year old daughter and her 98 Frontier. Dragged me and my TB 1.5 miles out of the trails and then 6 miles home on the road. Tough truck and good driver!

Good deal, glad you had some fun and are safe. Guess we all know what will be high on mod list! ;) Might want think about re-gearing now since you will have the oil pan down, if you plan on going larger then 32" tires and you got 3.42 gears.

:Iagree:
Senor Yoda makes a good point. Out of sheer convineince, might as well regear while you have the oil pan off. Take it from me, it's a pain of ass to try and get the front diff out with the oilpan still on.

I have done it three times now without dropping the pan, it really isn't that difficult.
